WE RECOMMEND

Since March 1990 the rescue volunteers at RS Simpevarp station have been on call 24 hours a day year around. The station has been closed a total of two days. It happened when Kalmarsund was covered with ice.

Swedish Rescue Society is responsible for over 80 percent of all sea rescues in Sweden and receives no government funding. Stations are located along the Swedish coast and on major lakes. The Society is financed by membership fees, donations and volunteer work.

A pleasant and safe harbor with seasonal boat slip rentals and a guest harbor. Located on the south side of the channel inlet to Oskarshamn with views of the Kalmar Sound and beautiful Blå Jungfrun – Blue Maiden Island National Park.

Facilities: Café, Showers/lavatories, Laundry room, Boat ramp, Mast crane, Lavatory pump out station, Boat hauls/launches and repairs by Ernemarvikens Marincenter AB.

Beaches, island swim spots, fishing and nature trails as well as hotel, restaurant and campground are within walking distance.

OSS is a true sailing society where community and friendship are of great importance. OSS was founded in 1908 and is one of Oskarshamn’s oldest organizations. OSS works with both recreational and competitive sailors and has fostered many successful racers. The club welcomes new members interested in sailing with a desire to participate in an active sailing club.
